What's the point?

Wed Jul 8, 2009, 9:51 PM
For as long as I could remember, I had dealt with several forms of 'isms'. Sexism, racism, ageism and maybe a few that I'm not aware of. So when I received this bulletin on my MySpace about how women with tattoos should join forces and stand up for their rights and fight the social stigma that went with tattoos, I was a bit perplexed.

You see, I understood what will happen if I got a tattoo and what I needed to do when dealing with work, family and friends. I made the decision to get a tattoo. I didn't make a decision in being female or asian....and it's something I can't hide. So why cry and whine because someone didn't appreciate your ink? I realize that not everyone is going to like my ink. But then again, not everyone is going to like everything about me.

So I didn't join their group.
